Fundamentals Class Description   Back to Class Dates & Location

Fundamentals is a 2-day class. It is for new users of either the Standard or Extended versions of Estimating and users familiar with Timberline DOS Estimating. The goal of this class is to acquaint users with all the functionality of the Standard version of the software and to lay the groundwork for users of the Extended version of the software.

  • Setting up estimates
  • Performing takeoff using Assembly, Item and Quick Takeoff
  • Working with the totals page
  • Manipulating the estimate
  • Creating Timberline reports
  • Creating formulas and assemblies
  • Job Cost Interface
  • Working with File Tools
  • Working with, modifying and protecting your Database
  • Timberline Explorer Overview

Prerequisites:

A working knowledge of Windows (able to navigate using the mouse and toolbar)

Assemblies Class Description

Assemblies is a 1-day class. It is for new or current users of Timberline Estimating Standard or Timberline Estimating Extended. The goal of this class is to acquaint users with all the functionality of Timberline Assemblies.

Topics covered are:

  • How to plan Assemblies
  • Assembly formula building
  • Building Assemblies
  • Testing Assemblies
  • Adding help documentation to your Assemblies
  • Building 1 and 2 dimensional Item Tables
  • Using more than 2 variables for Item Tables
  • Using Select-at-Takeoff

Prerequisites: 

  • A working knowledge of Windows (able to navigate using the mouse and toolbar)
  • Completion of the Fundamentals Class (or a working knowledge of Timberline Estimating and formulas)
